📆 When will Update 5.9 be available?
In July, there will be a 5.9 Early Access period on Android for randomly selected players.
This short Early Access period (usually ~2 weeks) helps us verify app stability and provide fixes.
Stay tuned on social media — as soon as 5.9 is available for all players, we will confirm it there!
Discover Your New Hall of Fame!
With a stylish new look, easier navigation and simplified objectives, making progress in your Hall of Fame has never been so satisfying!
Here’s a quick recap of what the Pocket Champs “Glow Up Team ✨” has improved:
• For starters, entering the Hall of Fame in the Collection Menu is easier! (😅 bye bye, tiny button!)
• Frames are now grouped in Galleries representing Champ hobbies (🎭 fanart ideas, anyone?)
• Multiple Frames can now fit on your screen (🙃 no need to scroll horizontally forever!)
• Difficult Frames are now locked until you get more Trophies (😎 easier to know where to start!)
• Important Collection items are identified more clearly (👀 and some of them are easier to find! More on that later in the Patch Notes…)
We hope you’ll enjoy navigating between galleries and looking at the Frames you’ve managed to complete — we’ve even updated all past Frames with more detailed visuals!
💡 Note: Your previous Hall of Fame progress will still be there — we’re only adding, not removing!
Introducing Upgrades for Abilities!
Starting with Update 5.9, Abilities can be upgraded to grant bigger speed bonuses!
To get upgraded Abilities, you simply need to complete multiple Frames that give the same Ability reward.
Listed below are Update 5.9’s New Frames and the Abilities they grant!
Head Start Abilities
• Head Start Run ⇒ Complete the “Moonlight race” Frame.
• Head Start Fly ⇒ Complete the “Dare to fly high” Frame.
Final Dash Abilities
• Final Dash Run ⇒ Complete the “Dunk it with style” Frame.
• Final Dash Swim ⇒ Complete the “Riding the Wild Waves” Frame.
• Final Dash Fly ⇒ Complete the “A Frog’s Tale” Frame.
This is just the beginning — more Frames will be added, and Abilities will be upgraded further!
💡 Remember, Abilities activate automatically on the first or last segment of a Race to boost your Champ’s speed.
New Collection Items!
With new Frames to complete comes brand new Collection items to hunt down!
Here are the 5 new items added in Update 5.9:
• 2 new Gadgets: Wave Runners, Soaring Dragon.
• 2 new Mojis: Let’s play!, Cool parrot
• 1 new Shape: Captain Splash
📆 Some of these will only be unlockable during limited-time Special Events — keep a close eye on your Events menu!
🤔 Unsure of how you can unlock a specific item? Just find it in the Collection Menu and tap on it to see where it might show up! Good luck!
Making it easier to find Collection Items!
To make sure everyone can easily enjoy the new Hall of Fame, early progress has been simplified with more opportunities for you to find various required items for existing Frames:
• Increased chances to find in Tournament Chests: 4 Shapes (Banana, Bee, Devil, Magma), 3 Mojis (Waterfall, #1 Hand, Tired), 1 Gadget (Beach Racer)
• Added chances to appear in Shop Daily Deals: 1 Shape (Monkey), 3 Mojis (Super Angry, Sleepy, Basket), 2 Gadgets (Jetwing, Wave Bubble)
• Added opportunities to obtain in Trophy Road Events: 5 Shapes (Frog Prince, Fish, Parrot, Strawberry, Slam Dunk), 2 Gadgets (Cheetah Bot, Skateboard)
In Other News...
GADGET ASCENT CHANGES
• Instead of being converted to Gems, extra Gadget Ascent Tickets will now be converted to Gold of equal value. (This change applies today, to all versions of Pocket Champs, not just Update 5.9).
• The reason for this change is because this mechanic could be regarded as one of the event's rewards, or in some cases even better than the event's rewards (oops 😅), leading to some players hoarding tickets on purpose instead of actually playing Gadget Ascent. This was never our design intention — it was always meant to be a small bonus and we apologize for reacting so late after letting our community get used to this.
• That being said, looking at community feedback, we also understand that Gadget Ascent needs to have more desirable rewards. 👀 We want all kinds of players — no matter their progress, to be motivated to use their tickets and get something they actually want. To that end, please keep in mind that we working on various ways to improve the grid of rewards for this Summer — more information should be shared for our 3rd Anniversary in August. 🎉
OTHER CHANGES
• Due to all changes made for the Hall of Fame, the Shop’s Daily Deals will no longer feature classic Chests. These will be replaced by a new “Daily Deal Chest” which comes in Small, Big or Mega variants.
• Due to the way rewards are distributed in the game, we have slightly modified Gold Multiplier values depending on your League.
